Meet the Novi Family Dentistry Staff
Abir Faraj, DDS
Dr. Abir Faraj DDS graduated from University of Detroit Mercy Dental School, one of two dental schools in Michigan in 2003. Since then, she’s started her own practice in Novi, Mich. In 2005, worked to expand her practice. As a dentist, or dental surgeon, she loves providing services that can help patients improve their dental health and actively works to keep her patients from oral diseases. Married to a pharmacist, she enjoys taking care of her two daughters and son, maintaining her health and fitness standards, bike riding, taking long walks, reading and traveling. Dental Assistant and Front Desk Receptionist
Front desk receptionist and dental assistant Wendi Weber has more than 30 years of experience and eight years with the dental office. She helps with dental procedures by freeing up the primary dentist’s hands and additionally, helps deal with the practical aspects of keeping the office running. She is a proud, single mother to three boys (two serving in the military). In her spare time, Wendi likes to garden, fish and take care of her pets.
Certified Dental Hygienist
Karen Killingbeck graduated from the University of Detroit Mercy Dental School in 1990 as a certified dental hygienist. She’s been in the office for 20 years, working alongside various dentists to provide a complete oral care plans for patients. Although dentists focus more on treating or preventing oral diseases or cavities, dental hygienists like Karen prioritize oral health by teaching patients about good oral hygiene practices. In her spare time, Karen likes to go on ski trips, travel, and visit family and friends.
Dental assistant Melanie Mastic has more than 40 years of experience working in various dental practices. As an assistant, she, too, acts as the dentist’s helping hands so the main dentist can focus more on the most direct problems during the surgical procedure. Married with one daughter, she enjoys traveling, shopping and spending time with family and friends.
Certified Dental Hygienist
After graduating from the Ferris State University’s School of Hygiene with honors in 2003, Lindsay Hillebrand became a certified dental hygienist, focused on providing a holistic view of a person’s oral health. Like Karen, she works to educate her patients about good dental hygiene practices and provides the necessary periodontal therapy to keep patients healthy. Married with two boys, she enjoys reading, watching her older son play hockey and spending time with her family. She currently lives in South Lyon.
